The Johanneswerk as an Employer

Working at the Johanneswerk …
… means service to and for people. It is our task to support old or ill people, children and young adults, people with disabilities or people in special life situation. Therefore, our work involves a high degree of participation and responsibility. The opinions and ideas, the experiences and know-how of our staff play an important role within the Johanneswerk. They contribute to the continuous development of our work.

Working at the Johanneswerk …
… means to work in the Diakonie. We are well aware of our origins and our responsibilities as an organisation of the Diakonie. In addition to Christian and diaconal rituals and offers of spiritual care, we stress the especially inviting character of the Diakonie. Therefore, not all of our employees are Protestants but members of other denominations as well, who are committed to the principles of the Diakonie. Our guiding principles describe the basics of our diaconal work and of our diaconal self-conception.

Working at the Johanneswerk …
… means constant development. The demands on our employees change continually. The target-oriented human resources development and career management are a central executive function – and at the same time a challenge and a responsibility for the employees to take care of their own development and qualification. Therefore, apprenticeship, training and further education play an essential role within the Johanneswerk. This not only involves specialist knowledge but social competences and diaconal-theological issues as well.
