Career at the Johanneswerk

School – diploma – apprenticeship: Thus far your professional path is obvious. But what comes next? Do you always have to stay in the same job? Where is the career ladder? And how to become a boss?

The Ev. Johanneswerk is the right place to find answers and support. First of all, you can lay your career foundation by training as a geriatric nurse.

Already in their third year of training, we offer good apprentices a clear prospect, the possibility for further development and a job guarantee. And a lot of opportunities – including managerial positions.

The programme
Career at the Johanneswerk: that’s the name of the programme intended for good Johanneswerk apprentices in geriatric care. Who will get into the programme will be decided in the third year. Then, we will offer you an employment contract, at first with the proTeam GmbH, an affiliate company of the Johanneswerk. As your temporary employer, proTeam’s main task will be to coordinate and account for your assignments in our regions and facilities – proTeam will match the demand of our facilities with your personal advancement agreements and assignment possibilities.

The details
During the first year of the programme you will work in different facilities of the Johanneswerk. Thereby, you will get to know different homes, forms of living and care concepts, colleagues and work routines and have time to get a general impression. In the meantime, you will take part in further training courses and receive a salary at the minimum based on the employment terms and conditions called AVR. After the first year, we will consider together: Which one is your favourite direction? How do you envisage your future career? After two years, you will be permanently employed by one of the Johanneswerk facilities.
